Becoming an IAPTP Accredited Supervisor

Bye Law 15 details the criteria required to achieve full accreditation with IAPTP as a supervisor. Application to become an IAPTP Accredited Supervisor are accepted from IAPTP accredited members who meet the standards set in this bye law.

Applicants should download and complete the Supervisor Accreditation Application Form BL 15 and submit well in advance of the next Accreditation Committee Meeting (Meeting in April and September each year).

Accreditation as a supervisor with IAPTP will be valid up until the date of next re-accreditation as play therapist, and/or psychotherapist with a specialisation in play therapy, and will be renewed as part of that process.

Becoming an IAPTP Approved Supervisor

Bye Law 16 details the criteria required to achieve approval with IAPTP as a supervisor. While not necessarily accredited play therapists with IAPTP, approved supervisors will be accredited as supervisors with other suitable professional bodies and have considerable experience in the practice of play therapy and/or creative approaches in therapeutic work with children and/or young people.

Approved supervisor status will be for a period of 5 years after which it may be renewed.
