IAPTP AGM 2022
We are delighted to announce that our AGM will return to an in-person event this year.
Venue: Castle Oaks Hotel Limerick
This years AGM will include a CPD workshop with GOSHH Limerick, poster presentations from selected CTC students sharing their masters research topics, a drop & select toy table for you to drop off toys and materials and maybe pick up a few new pieces, stands from selected toy and play materials providers, coffees, teas, lunch and connection with each other.

Women’s Aid Training
Understanding and responding to the impacts of domestic abuse on women and children

Women’s Aid has developed a 2 x half day Online Training programme focused on understanding how women and their children are impacted by experiences of domestic abuse. This training is designed for professionals who in any capacity support and provide services to children and families.
Training is delivered on Zoom. Each participant must have access to a private space, a good internet connection, a computer, or another device to connect in.
IAPTP is offering a subsidised rate for our members to attend the two, half day training sessions with Women’s Aid. This event is for members of the Irish Association of Play Therapy and Psychotherapy
If you are a play therapist in Ireland who is not a member of IAPTP, wishing to avail of this training, you can write directly to [email protected] to seek admission, the fee for non-members is €80.
Members will receive 6 CPD hours.

Free online CPD event for IAPTP members
Friday the 8th of April
10am – 1pm
In this CPD training session, Harriet will present a way of understanding eating disorders that will provide a grounded foundation upon which to build and structure your therapeutic work with people with eating disorders. Harriet’s experience working with clinicians and health professionals of all disciplines ensures that you will learn about eating disorders in a clear and helpful way, that is grounded in the clinic and can be used in any clinical field. Harriet will elaborate the dynamics of the different eating disorders to ensure participants have an experiential understanding of what it is like for a person to experience an eating disorder. Drawing on her experience working in the area of eating disorders, Harriet will use clear and helpful examples to bring this material to life and ensure that those attending are given something concrete and helpful, no matter what field of study they come from. The training will examine communication skills that are particularly important when working with people with eating disorders. Working with people with eating disorders is not easy or straightforward, and Harriet will discuss the common fears, anxieties and expectations that clinicians may have.
Members will receive 3 CPD hours.
